What once filled her days—school, friends, laughter, and childhood adventures—was suddenly replaced with hospital visits, procedures, specialists, and cancer treatment. Through it all, Ellie has faced each new challenge with incredible courage and strength.

With both Luis and Nicole unable to work, with a new baby already here, the weight of these challenges is immense. Yet, even in the midst of this heart-wrenching battle, they are surrounded by a community of love and support.

 In April 2024, Cathy was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer, a new challenge in her already remarkable life. Even in the face of this difficult diagnosis, her love for her family remains her driving force. Through chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and an upcoming surgery, she continues to fight with the same resilience and determination she has always shown.
